If you ask almost anyone who knows me, they will certainly tell you that I love food. I love to cook, bake, and definitely eat. As food is one of my favorite things, when you combine that with gaming, I'm probably going to be very interested! While, of course, I haven't played every food-themed game that there is, I have found a few awesome ones along the way, and if you're a food and game love like me, I highly recommend them all! Hey there, Gamers! I know we all love good games, but what can make a good game enough better? If it's gorgeous of course! There's nothing like appealing player pieces, boards, and even rule books to make a good game all the more perfect. These are a few of the prettiest games in my collection. Feel free to comment and let me know what other beautiful games are out there, so I know what to pick up next! Sagrada Definitely #1 on my list. The dice are beautiful, and when that's the main component in the game, that's a must! It fits beautifully together with the theme of stained glass windows, which makes it all the better as well. The boards have intricate art, and the box matches as well. Even the backs of cards were designed with care for beauty in mind. It's a beautiful game that I keep going back to not only because I love playing, but because I love looking at it! As we all know, there's a lot of games out there, and a lot of titles are known to even non-hobby gamers because they're just that popular. While I like plenty of games that are widely adored, I still have a fair few I can't get into for one reason or the next - many which other gamers tried to use to get me into the hobby. (I know, weird, right?)
So here's a list of the games that I just can't get into no matter how much I've tried, even though plenty of people I know love them. Unsurprisingly, no pictures available since I don't own the games myself, but I linked the titles to BGG so you guys can check them out if you want! *Disclaimer: Of course, I'm not trying to bash these games, just saying "Hey, they're not for me, and here's why. But it's cool that you like them, please enjoy!" :) We love visiting our local thrift stores to see what games someone may have donated that could become our next big treasure. We've found a lot of random games that end up being played once and getting re-donated, but we have also found a good number of games that we end up adoring and not only hanging on to, but also playing quite frequently.
So, without further ado, in no particular order, here are the top 15 games that we've acquired by thrift shopping! |
