Hey there, Gamers! I thought it might be a fun change of pace to share with you a short story I wrote for my final English class in college based off the classic, gateway game Betrayal at House on the Hill.
As the title suggests, this is based on the Haunt Comes the Hero, so here is your official Spoiler Warning in case you haven't played that Haunt and don't want any of the details. I have taken a few creative liberties with the characters and plot, of course, to create more of a narrative and less of a rule set, but it's all for fun, so I hope you enjoy! Here's also a slight Mature Warning for you, for a little "foul" language here and there. Nothing you wouldn't fully expect some teens to say, but never hurts to warn ya. I'll post this in a few different segments, so don't be surprised by some cliffhangers! Disclaimer: Of course, I do not own these characters or any part of the game of Betrayal in general; again, this is all in good fun.

Hey Gamers! So, I posted a poll on Twitter a while back asking what my next Top 10 should be, and I finally followed through! I decided to narrow it down by only games I own to help a little because this was a tough list to pull together - there are so many good ones! Without further ado, here are my Top 10 Worker Placement Games of all time! ..... So far.
Hey party people! So this weekend I attended my very first Tas-Con, and so I wanted to do a super quick recap on it! It was only 1 day (9am - 11pm on a Saturday) and a small number of people, but it was a great time! A lot of fun and something that got me out of the house playing games with some new people, which, if you know me, is quite the feat because I never leave the house and strangers frighten me to be honest.
The con featured a silent auction (that got too big for the tables set aside for it, which was cool), a wide selection of snacks and drinks, and some very friendly people (as well as a fantastic host!)! We got 10 games played throughout the day (8 new to us), sold a bunch of our not-our-faves games for a little money, and picked up a bunch of new games that we were very excited about, at some great prices! While we're used to weekend long conventions (of vastly different sizes) this was a nice addition to this year's lineup and I'm so glad we got to check it out. A list of the games we played, some quick opinions, and a few pics await you below! Happy Gaming, everyone. And maybe we'll see you there next year!~ ⊑⟒⌰⌰⍜ ⏃⋏⎅ ⍙⟒⌰☊⍜⋔⟒ ⏁⍜ ⋔⊬ ⏚⌰⍜☌ Now that I've gotten the attention of all the Martians in the room, let's begin! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go to this "Earth" planet we have found and get us as many of the inhabitants as you can - particularly of the "hu-man," "chi-ck-en," and "kow" varieties as they have the samples we most need. Take plenty of death rays with you to combat their pesky tanks, and most importantly, do not disappoint us. GO NOW! |
