Hey there, Gamers! I know we all love good games, but what can make a good game enough better? If it's gorgeous of course! There's nothing like appealing player pieces, boards, and even rule books to make a good game all the more perfect. These are a few of the prettiest games in my collection. Feel free to comment and let me know what other beautiful games are out there, so I know what to pick up next! Sagrada Definitely #1 on my list. The dice are beautiful, and when that's the main component in the game, that's a must! It fits beautifully together with the theme of stained glass windows, which makes it all the better as well. The boards have intricate art, and the box matches as well. Even the backs of cards were designed with care for beauty in mind. It's a beautiful game that I keep going back to not only because I love playing, but because I love looking at it! Remember when you were a kid and everything being in your favorite color was such a big deal? Your cup, your plate, your shoelaces...everything needed to be your favorite color, and you’d love it so much more. Well, in my board game enthusiast days of now, I can tell you not much has changed.
Red is by far my favorite color and basically a given that I must be red in every single game, so long as it is a playable color. I started thinking about this the other day, and said to myself how weird it is that player color could have such an impact on a game for me. Without further ado, let me take you on a little walk through the varying layers of why player color matters, … or maybe doesn’t, for some gamers. Ahh, another board game day is coming up, and I bet you can’t wait! A day to sit down, relax, and not think about going anywhere...until… someone pulls out the newest tile-laying game Going Further! Now you have to plan your moves and see just how far you can get your road to go!
