Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a racoon forging for food in the trash? You're just trying to find something delicious like, perhaps, a leftover cheeseburger, but coming up with a lot of other things as well like coffee mugs and combs. Well, if you have wondered about what it'd be like, you're in luck! Scavenge, from Chou! Games, allows you to take this role on and press your luck to find the most point-worthy garbage you can and come out ahead of your opponents!
Players take turns drawing from one deck at a time and choosing when to stop, or seeing if they can push their luck further without being told to stop by certain cards. Try to find the best treasure and a highly coveted cheeseburger, but don't get too cocky or you might just lose your potential garbage or even have to discard cards!
Who Should Play This?
The great thing about this 2-5 player card game is that it's for everyone! It's got a fun theme, it is quick and easy to learn, teach, and play, and it has some cute art as well! It's great for kids, new gamers, seasoned gamers, grandparents, anyone at all, really! It's also easy to transport so it's great to take to family gatherings, holidays, or even a lunch break at work to try with plenty of people!
I'm not altogether that big on push your luck games because I sometimes can't help myself and end up not doing well, or I get frustrated at a high loss of turns because of the card distribution. I will say, however, that I enjoyed this game a bunch! It's quick, which makes it a lot less frustrating, even when you aren't doing so great, and the theme plays so well that it's fun to just pretend your scavenging through trash bins, even when you'd never want to do that in real life!
It's a nifty little card game that I would highly recommend to push your luck lovers, new gamers, and families above all. If you get the chance to try it out - don't pass it by!
Happy Gaming, friends!~
