Hey Gamers!
I just wanted to announce that I will be headed to the PAX Unplugged convention this weekend in Philadelphia, PA and my excitement is overflowing! Besides being stoked to experience a larger convention (having only gone to GrandCon which is much smaller), I'm excited to share a ton of photos of things I played and my take home haul! :D BUT! If you love following conventions, can't make it to this, and don't want to wait for the post afterwards, please consider following my journey! I will probably be tweeting and snapping a ton so please feel free to follow me on Twitter or Snapchat (ging_biddy)! I'll be at the convention Friday through Sunday, and in Philly Thursday as well, so I'm hoping to have plenty of gaming adventures to share with you! In the meantime, Happy Gaming!~

Hey game players and fans!
So, if you did not know, this past weekend there were a bunch of events going on for Extra Life - an awesome charity that raises money for sick kids through 24-hour gaming! My boyfriend and I ended up going to The Portal game store for some gaming and ended up having such an amazing time! We participated in a game auction, played a board game themed "Who wants to be a Millionaire," met some cool people, played some new games, and even won some raffle items and promo cards/materials! And the best part was, we were also able to donate money to a fantastic cause while getting some cool stuff and having a ton of fun. I'm truly grateful that this hobby has events like this one that allow gamers to give back to the community while doing what they love. I don't have much more to say about it, I just wanted to share some links to a great charity, and an awesome game store (at least for you gamers in/near CT), and share some pics of our sweet haul!! Hopefully you all get to experience a gaming event like this one soon!! Happy gaming~ Hey Gamers! So, as I mentioned in my last post, this past weekend was GenCant 2017, and I have to say, I had a great time being the unofficial host of my at-home mini convention. I made some sweet personalized badges for my friends, played more games than usual in a weekend, tweeted photos like crazy (& followed a ton of other people's GenCant adventures via Twitter which was fun), entered a bunch of contests, and even won an AEG Big Game Night Box (well, my boyfriend won it, but I entered him & we live together, so I get a little credit, okay?)
Overall there's not much to say other than it was a really fun experience, and I thought it was really awesome of the creators to put on. It is something that I will definitely be participating in for years to come! Check out some of my awesome gaming photos from this weekend below and stay tuned for more posts in the future. I hope to post more reviews or general board game talk soon! :) Happy gaming~ CHey Gamers! Sorry I haven't been up to snuff and haven't posted about another game as of late, but I've got some news today! (*and the crowd goes wild!*) I recently stumbled upon something in the Twitter-verse, thanks to some cool peeps I follow from the Flip the Table Podcast, (sorry if you missed out on this gem, but you should listen to all their episodes now, cause they rock) called GenCan't 2017. Now, if you're unfamiliar, like I was, this is basically an "unconventional convention," as they call it in which if you're not going to GenCon (the biggest board game con ever) then you can just play games at home all weekend with friends and fam and take pics and tweet and so on, AND potentially even win prizes from them! Honestly, I think this is hella cool because: 1. Cons are expensive and this is not, 2. I was disappointed in not being able to attend GenCon and now am less disappointed, and 3. It's a great way to bring the gaming community together via the good 'ol interwebs, and a sense of community is always fun. They have downloadable badges (see awesome example to left), some virtual gaming to participate in, and just a general air of fun and friendly existence. (Yupp, that's the phrasing I'm sticking with.) I'm going to post links to their pages below and hope to see tons of people tweeting and posting photos of their gaming adventures all weekend. I also plan to take some photos and tweet, and then might compile my GenCan't experience photos here too! Enjoy this weekend, and happy gaming readers! |
